Lemur Preserve at Barenty

The famous ring-tailed lemurs ran everywhere.  Here they are watching us as we walk by on the path.

Our zoom is powerful, but we hardly needed it when this white lemur let us walk right up to him as he ate.

Our Malagasy guide spotted lemurs, unusual bugs, birds, bats, etc. as we so much wildlife in their natural habitat (no cages).

This is a mouse lemur asleep with it’s eyes open.

Mother and baby posed for a cute photo, but unfortunately these lemurs are sick, very thin and missing patches of hair.

A brown lemur plays "peek-a-boo" through the branches of a tree over the path where we walked.

Ben and Paul (another MK) find tropical moths that look like red berries.

Fruit bats flew too quickly for an action shot, but they were remarkably big. Here are some hanging from a tree.

Dr. Stan Quanbeck (a life-long Lutheran missionary in Madagascar) seemed eager to serve - even carrying kids on the long walk through the woods.

Ben and Ella Rich (also an MK) enjoyed exploring the wildlife together-they get along so well.
